Dear Mary, Tony & Debbie and the entire family,
After getting the call from David , I have spent that last while thinking about Fred and in fact all of you … OUR GLOVERSVILLE FAMILY.
Hopefully what I am about to say, can in a small way help……
Its hard to believe that I am already sixty , and about to become a Grandfather.
I feel , when it comes down to what is important in life ( at the end of it all) , IT IS RELATIONSHIPS AND MEMORIES.
I want to thank Fred ( and all of you ) for giving is the absolute best of both ( RELATIONSHIPS & MEMORIES). With the obvious consideration of one’s immediate family , I can honestly say that there is no place or group of people who have impacted us more than you guys. We have nothing but smiles , laughter , joy , warmth , and love when it comes to the time we have spent together. Till this day, I remember( 55yrs ago) , walking up those wooden stairs ( on McKinley Place ) coming up early Saturday morning just arriving from Montreal. It was the best time because we had the whole weekend ahead of us. WHAT TROUBLE WOULD LAY AHEAD…
When my family gets to reminiscing it always comes back to you all – OUR GLOVERSVILLE FAMILY. We shared JOY AND PAIN together. But in the end we always wind up smiling , laughing at ourselves for something stupid we did. But , in the end always being left with a warm feeling of connection. FOR THAT AGAIN (WHICH IS SO MUCH PART OF ME ) , I THANK FRED FOR HIS INTEGRAL PART AND THANK YOU ALL.
Life moves on as do the CYCLES that define it. No matter what happens we will have our memories , connections , and love.
God Bless you all & THANKS AGAIN ……

Mr. Pern was a second dad to so many of us growing up including me. 20 McKinley Place was my home away from home. There were so many weekends where we would all end up sleeping on the Perna's living room floor. We would wake up to the smell of multiple breakfast meats cooking in the griddle and Mr. Pern instructing us to get our butts up and eat. Dave's friends were always treated like family. The Perna's door was (literally) always open.
Mr. Pern, I'm going to really miss talking Yankees with you and telling funny stories about when David and I were kids. I envision you being with him now which gives me peace.
Whenever I left the house, you would say, “Take care of yourself, bud.” I will Mr. Pern. Thanks for all that you have done for me.

Mary, Debbie, Tony and family. We are so very sorry to read of Fred's passing. We have so many wonderful memories that we've shared .... our many years of Drum Corps together, Fred being a groomsman in our wedding, Elton Leather, the last Drum Corps contest that the four of us attended together in the pouring down rain, our get togethers when we returned to NY for a visit, and the love that we've shared with all of you over our lifetime. We know Fred's up there visiting with Mom and Dad right now. May you rest in peace dear friend ... Heaven gained another angel. Love, Randy and Rob
