I had the pleasure of working with Sande at Barkley Elementary School. She was an “out -of-the-box “ teacher that was constantly filled with creative art ideas. I have an especially fond memory of a project she did with some of the students at Barkley. She gave each student a pocket camera and told to students to go out and photograph their world. The students, including the special education students, produced the most amazing works of photography. Students had their work framed and she arranged an opening art celebration called “Through the eyes of a Child” for her students. Parents, students and staff were so impressed with the artistic ability her students displayed.
Sande was an interesting teacher, caring friend, and talented human being. My life was enriched by her many talents. May she Rest In Peace.
