Obituary of Carol A. Krutz
Mrs. Carol A. Krutz, 83, formerly of the Town of Florida, passed away peacefully on January 5, 2021 at the River Ridge Living Center. Born in Matawan, New Jersey on November 30, 1937 she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Matie Humphrey Barnes.
Carol graduated in 1956 from the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School and immediately joined the work force. She was employed for Holz- Shaw Clothing Store and late Montco, retiring as the office manager. Carol was also an active member of the community during her lifetime, serving as the secretary of St. Luke’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, secretary and treasurer of the Pine Grove Cemetery Association, member of the Florida Reformed Church and was the past president and member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Town of Florida Volunteer Fire Department.
On February 15, 1958 she was united in marriage to Ronald H. “Ron” Krutz. Together they raised four sons and made their home on Krutz Lane in the Town of Florida. They enjoyed traveling and camping together in their RV on the East Coast. Carol also enjoyed sewing and crocheting. Her greatest joy was being surrounded by her family, who she loved unconditionally.
She is survived by her husband, Ron Krutz; their four sons, Stephen (Karen) Krutz, Donald (Kelley) Krutz, Thomas (Helen) Krutz and Scott Krutz; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and one brother, Thomas Barnes.
A graveside service will take place in the spring in the Pine Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends will be invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Ladies Auxiliary of the Town of Florida Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 128, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
