Obituary of June Bornt

Mrs. June L. Bornt, 94, of Hagaman NY passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Wilkinson Residential Healthcare Facility.

She was born on May 29, 1926 to Mr. Hector Palen and Mrs. Lillian Fisher Palen of Hagaman. A lifelong area resident, June attended local schools graduating from Wilbur Lynch high school in Amsterdam..

She was united in holy matrimony to LaVerne Carr Bornt on June 26, 1948. They remained lovingly married until his passing on May 11, 1998.

June began her career as an insurance broker for Putnam Insurance where she worked for a number of years before retiring in 1991.

June enjoyed a quiet life being a homemaker, reading and taking an occasional trip to Vermont with her husband. She also loved spending time shopping with her granddaughter Kelly.

June will be remembered for being an active member of her church serving as treasurer, secretary and on the board of trustees.

In addition to her parents and husband, June was preceded in death by a brother Raymond Palen and sister Marjorie Palen.

She is survived by her son James Bornt and his wife Rose of Broadalbin, a granddaughter Kelly (Khamla) Phoninsan, a great grandson River and great granddaughter Lily all living in Laos PDR. She is also survived by a niece, nephews and great nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved.

Services will take place at the convenience of the family. Interment will take place at the Hagaman Mills Cemetery in the spring.
