Obituary of Robert Leo Pettit

Mr. Robert Leo Pettit, age 79, of Gloversville, died Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Albany Stratton VA Medical Center, Albany.

 

He was born March 28, 1941 in Niagara Falls, the son of the late Charles and Marion DeLong Pettit. He served in the US Marines from 1959 to 1963 and was later employed at F. Rulison and Sons from 1965 to 1984 and at Salvatores Pizzeria from 1984 to 2008.

 

He was an avid bowler and enjoyed his family, 50's music and scratch-offs.

 

Robert is survived by his wife, Heather Campbell Pettit; three children, Laurie McNeely (Brian), Vikki Wilson (Joey) and Bonnie Platt (Danny); seven grandchildren, Jeremy Bruce, Rachel Platt, Griffin McNeely, Alaina Sahler, Nicole Campbell, Alan Downing and Jenna Sweet; four great-grandchildren, Kinlee Downing, Heather Fegley, Libby Sweet and Caroline Sahler; four brothers, Thomas Pettit; Ronald Pettit, Charles "Skip" Pettit and Orville "Sonny" Pettit; as well as many nieces and nephews.

 

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two children, Richard Pettit and Kristie Pettit.

 

A Celebration of Life will take place when the Covid-19 Pandemic is no longer a threat.

 

Interment will take place at Gerald B. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.

 

Arrangements have been entrusted to Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, Gloversville.
