We have very fond memories of Geraldine working in her store on the corner, my children and l would walk a half mile to her store, and they would go to the penny and nickel candy,(you can tell this was like 30 years ago) and they would like to pay, and Geraldine would always ask how they were doing, ask me how the family and how my husband was, always friendly and outgoing, kind, sweet and generous and very personable, she was also a hard worker. The whole Anderson family are like that hard workers but friendly, kind, easy to talk with, l know l live right across the street from them for about 35 years now, best neighbors around! Geraldine will be missed so much, she was a talker, and a listener, and a really good person, she really cared about people, and that's what really drew me to her, she was genuine...Our condolences go out to her family for the grief they must be going through at this time...She will be missed by many people..

I feel I was blessed to have known Gerri. She always made me feel so good every time I saw her. Joe really enjoyed going to the Ames Store and having breakfast while reading the paper and picking out a horse to bet on. Gerri would sometimes bet with him on the horses and she was always so happy when her horse won. The world was a better place because Gerri was here. She will be remembered by all who knew her. Every time I think of Gerri I smile. May God Bless all her family. With much love, Carol Vacca

Mrs. Anderson was one of kind and full of love for her community. From buying penny candy and cokes at the store as a kid to her asking for my family and son anytime I saw her as an adult, she was so special and made us feel like one big "Ames" family. Hoping her family takes solace in the many memories left behind. She's left enough for the Wheeler clan, for sure.

Mrs Anderson was a fantastic person with a huge heart. We use to ride our bikes to the store every week during the summer (lived at the top of Lattimer Hill) to get our penny candy and popsicles. She was always so nice and always smiling. Rest in peace Mrs. Anderson

What can I say that probably has already been said about a very tender hearted soul .. Mrs.Anderson (Gram) I've known you practically my entire life ..growing up on Mapletown Rd and you and your family were also friends of ours .. Riding our bikes to the store for our goodies ,hanging out on a stool or the front porch .. Chit chatting , always made us feel like we were one of the grown-up 's .. Always giving the biggest hugs & smiles ,or sneaking me a treat !! What a blessing it was to have you and your family as neighbor's and friends .. Ames hasn't been the same with our you and the general store , heaven has gained the sweetest gift ..Say hi , to all of our Ames family for us (please) till we meet again Gram..Mary Lynn(Kuntzsch)Guere

Mrs. Anderson treated everyone like they were important. She personally taught me life lessons, as a kid, that I still use today. She was truly a very special person and I consider myself blessed that I could call her my friend.
