My husband, Richard and I were special friends of Charles (Chuck) as we called him. His dear deceased wife, Michelle and Chuck were very special to us both. We had a special bond for more than 30 years with them. We are so sorry to hear of his passing on and wish special prayers on to his family members at this time.

Chas was a friend indeed. We would laugh so hard we couldn't walk, much less talk. A fine guy.

While I had not had the opportunity to greatly spend time with the deceased; let me on behalf of our mutual fraternity, Alpha Phi Omega, ( as an officer of Alpha Beta, Penn State U ‘68) express to his close friends and relatives our brotherly wishes that, in our loss, we all go from strength to strength with his memories.

I have known Charlie since high school. We were friends and joked around. He was smart and quick witted. Charlie had a sincere sense of humor and a warm chuckle. When I could borrow my mother's VW bug .. Charlie was quick to hop-in for a ride. He would phone me, out of the blue, over the years .. and Charlie was always eager to attend our high school reunions and catch up on classmates lives. At those reunions, he mingled freely among classmates but he and I always ended up chatting. We both were masons too. Rest in peace my buddy ... you will be missed.

I got to know Charles well when he was living in Albany since I drove him regularly to religious services at Temple Israel and we’d always sit together. Attending services was very important to him. He also greatly enjoyed talking with other congregants afterwards (and especially bemoaning the woes of the Mets with fellow fans). His kindness and warmth touched so many of us. After he moved to Niskayuna, people would often approach me to inquire about him and send their regards. Charles was a fine person with a gentle demeanor and a pure soul. May his memory be a blessing.

Charlie was a very smart individual that I worked with many years at the State. An very good person that wasn't given his due. Charlie was one of the few people that kept in contact once we both retired. He was a great guy and will be missed.

A few years ago, Charlie moved to Schenectady and ultimately joined Congregation Beth Israel. He quickly became a regular and made a determined effort to learn the names of all the other regular attendees. He loved his new synagogue. His joyful participation and sweet smile added a special dimension to our worship experience. During the pandemic, when prohibited from attending, he longed to return to our midst. We will really miss him, but his spirit will remain with us for a blessing.
