Once her children were older, she worked several years for Coleco. She also worked several years as a cook for the Sanford Home on Guy Park Avenue where she received a standing ovation one year by the residents for her home-cooked Thanksgiving dinner. After leaving Sanford Home she worked as a cook for the Amsterdam School District. Rosalie was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. She was a member of the Christian Women’s Society for many years where she served as past President, and other offices.
Rosalie was beloved wherever she went. She was a favorite of the neighborhood, young and old, and everyone looked forward to her homemade pizza during neighborhood block parties. Her faith was unwavering. When friends or family were in need of prayers, they all asked Rosalie to pray for them because it was felt that her prayers were always answered. People came from miles for her family gatherings. She loved to crochet and made many afghans, not only as gifts for family members but for seniors and pet shelters.
In lieu of flowers, Rosalie asked that any donations made in her memory be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital www.stjude.org
