Obituary of Catherine E. Roberts

Catherine E. Roberts, age 89, of Gloversville, went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 21, 2020 at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville.

She was born May 26, 1931 in the Town of Mayfield, the daughter of the late Earl Wilson and Marietta Johnson Wilson. She was employed as a Material Handler by Coleco of  Mayfield. Catherines life long passion was to raise children, as she was a mother to foster children and fresh air children, raising them with unconditional love. She was a well loved babysitter of many families and enjoyed spending time with her friends and family including her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

Catherine was a devout Christian who inspired many lives.  

She is survived by three sons, Calvin Walker (Kathleen), Mark Roberts Sr. (Tara) and John Roberts (Wendy); 20 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, 8 great great grandchildren; brothers Barney Wilson (Mary), Kenneth Wilson, sisters Marilyn Sanders (Glen) and Regina Deere,  as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her two husbands, Melvin Walker and Harold Roberts; a son, Richard Walker and a daughter, Marsha Jones; sister Carol Slaybaugh and her husband Kenneth; as well as 3 grandchildren, Calvin Walker III, Rachel Walker and Charles Walker, and a great granddaughter Bethany VanEvery.

A Celebration of Life will take place next year when the Covid-19 Pandemic is no longer a threat.
