Obituary of Lowell D. Montgomery
Mr. Lowell D. Montgomery, age 85, of Gloversville, passed away surrounded by his family on Saturday December 19, 2020 at his home in Gloversville.
He was born May 25, 1935 in Hornell, the son of the late Theodore and Helen (Lippencott) Montgomery. He served in the US Army and was later employed as a Machinist by General Electric of Schenectady, of which he later retired from. He was an avid fan of golf, biking, skiing, and running. He competed in many races including 10 Boston marathons. He enjoyed spending time with his loving wife Joan of 63 years. He loved and supported his family and friends fiercely and will be remembered and missed by all that knew him.
Lowell is survived by his daughter Janet (Lawrence) Glasser, a son Daniel (Kimberly) Montgomery, a brother Roger (Alice) Montgomery; two sisters, Sandra (Richard) Aesch and Beverly Montgomery; his five grandchildren, Matthew, Sarah, Michael, David and Lisa (Brandon) Cross; along with several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.
In addition to his parents, Lowell was predeceased by wife Joan A. Montgomery, and his two brothers Earl and Lawrence Montgomery.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral services at this time.
Interment will take place in the spring at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Schuylerville.
