Obituary of Charles Godey

Mr. Charles “Chuck” Godey, 63, passed away on Thursday December 17, 2020 at River Ridge Living Center.

He was born on July 9, 1957 to the late Florence and Harold Godey of Amsterdam, NY.  Chuck attended and graduated from local schools before serving in the United States Army. After his service Chuck worked for several local businesses, most recently FGI in Amsterdam where he worked until his retirement. He was united in marriage to Ms. Zandra Whitbeck on June 18, 1988. Chuck enjoyed spending time with others and loved serving his community; he competed in the Boston Marathon in 1999, and volunteered with local hospice programs.

In addition to his wife Zandra Chuck is survived by his son Mike (Leagh) Godey of North Carolina, step daughter Cindy Green of North Carolina, sister Marion (David) Harris of Maryland, brother Ken Godey of Texas,  and nephew Warren Harris of Maryland.

Services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will take place at Green Hill Cemetery in the spring.
