I'm so sorry to hear of Ann's passing. I intended to come, today, but was unable.
I am a packaging engineer, and Al was my first mentor. I lived across the Mohawk River, in nearby Cranesville. I met him at Mohawk Chapter of SPHE (now IoPP). In those days, it was almost a supper club where veterans of the packaging industry, and their wives, would go on plant tours and follow up with dinner at a local restaurant. He encouraged me to join his prep class for the certification exam. Al asked me to prepare my recommendations for a client he was working with so that he could provide me with an honest evaluation and reference, and then encouraged me to drop his name! Al got me an interview at Wang Labs, which became my first job as a packaging engineer. I have worked as a packaging engineer ever since, catching up with Al at various industry conferences and trade shows over the years.
They both will be sorely missed.

Ava, I am so sorry to read of your mom's passing. Silvana and I were friends and worked together on many PTA projects. Andrew and my youngest son Brian were also friends before they moved.
I know how hard this must be for you and your family. Your kind words and card were a great comfort for me after Lance died.

So sorry to read about your mothers passing. I lost my mother five days before Christmas a few years back. It's never easy loosing someone you love so close to the holidays. Never will life be the same again. The loss of nana is just almost too much to accept. She is all that the obituary describes and so much more. The huge void in my life will always be there.
