Obituary of Darlene Roe

     Darlene Roe, of Fort Johnson, NY,  passed on December 15, 2020 with her family by her side.

     Darlene was born on June 19, 1950 to the late William and Lily Drake, In Moriah ,NY.  She moved to this area when she married David Roe on August 18, 1976 then resided in Fort Johnson.   She spent her last 40 years as a homemaker raising her children and taking care of her family.  Besides her parents she’s predeceased by her brothers, William, Jack and Paul Drake as well as her grandson Travis Benton.

    Darlene enjoyed and loved family gatherings, enjoyed camping and being outdoors during the summer.  She was on the Village of Fort Johnson Board for many years.  She was president of the Village Seniors for 4 years and enjoyed going on the senior trips with her friends.   She also enjoyed being a part of the village youth commission in her earlier years. 

     She leaves behind her loving husband of 40 years,  David Roe.  Her loving daughters, Carol Benton (Tom), Betty Bassett (Margaret)  and Laurie Hugo (Chad Jazwinski).    Her loving son, Don Roe (Theresa), Her grandchildren, Billy, Mathew, Kyle, Kaitlyn, Taylor, Markie, Johnathan, Jordon, Heather, Angela and Mark.  As well as several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  Also, Georgie, Connie, LaVinna, Milo and Joe. 

     The family would like to thank community Hospice for the great care of their family member in her last days of her life. 

No services will be held due to the current pandemic.  The family will have a celebration of life at a later date.    In lieu of flowers, we are asking for donation in her honor to Community Hospice,  179 Lawrence St., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
