Obituary of Eve E. Terwilleger

     Mrs. Eve E. Elmy Terwilleger, 93,  of Amsterdam, passed away Monday December 14, 2020 EL Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility in Amsterdam.

     Born on April 16, 1927 a daughter of the late Anthony and Amalia Criscuolo Elmy. She was a lifelong Amsterdam area resident and was a 1945 graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School in Amsterdam.  

     Eve worked for 10 years at the former Mohasco Industries in Amsterdam as an executive secretary.  She also taught western line dancing and exercise class in Hagaman.  She was a communicant of St. Stephen’s Roman Catholic Church in Hagaman.  Eve enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

      She married George P. Terwilleger on May 31, 1947.  He passed away on September 1, 2008.  Survivors include; one son, Leslie A. “Les” Terwilleger  (Jean) of Louisville Kentucky; Three grandchildren, Carla (Dan), Anthony(Kasey) and Sam.  Great-grandchildren, Nash Henry and Hayes Elliott.  Nieces, Nephews and cousins also survive.  Eve was predeceased by a son, Duane G. Terwilleger in 1987.  A brother, Frank J. Elmy and a sister, Vera Rusnica.   

      Due to covid 19 restrictions, a private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Stephen’s Roman Catholic Church, Pawling St., Hagaman, NY with the Father Jeffrey M. L’Arche M.S. as celebrant.  Interment will be in St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Hagaman, NY.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Stephen’s Church, Pawling St., Hagaman, NY 12086.
