Obituary of Thomas L. Hidde
Mr. Thomas L. Hidde, 73, of Scotia, New York, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2020 at the Albany Stratton VA Medical Center. Tom was born in Amsterdam on April 9, 1947 to the late John and Hazel (Phoenix) Hidde.
Tom proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War from 1966 until 1968. After his time in the service, Tom went on to work at the Lee Dye factory in Gloversville, and later for the Center for Disability Services. Tom was a private person, who enjoyed fishing and loved his country.
In 1967, Tom was united in marriage to his loving wife, Rose Laska, who survives him. The couple has shared the past 53 years together. He is also survived by their children, Kimberly (Wayne) Hudson, and Jason Edward Hidde; their grandchildren Samantha O’Donnell, and Matthew O’Donnell; their great-grandchildren Chloe O’Donnell, Ethan Watson, Owen Watson, and Sophia O’Donnell; his siblings Ted Hidde, and Martha Ozug, as well as by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held privately, at the convenience of the family. He will be laid to rest in St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
