Growing up I always will remember my godparents would always have a special gift waiting for mr over the holidays. I never went without. Uncle Bob was always the calm dealing with us crazy Merendo’s. You touched many hearts. Thanks for being a great godparent. Bobby, Rickey and Susan, you have a lot to be proud of. Best wishes and love to all.

Sue, Bob (Susan), Rick (Cindy),
Where do I begin? The Merendo family consisted of MANY uncles. Uncle Bob married into this family, but he always stood out among the uncles because of those BEAUTIFUL, kind blue eyes. It's been told that's what made Aunt Ro fall in love with him from the start. It was obvious he loved his family to the fullest, especially Aunt Ro. I was also impressed by the love he had for his country and how proud he was to have served it. When cousin Chris came to Amsterdam, she and I would visit him and Aunt Ro. I loved spending the time with him and listen to his stories. With any questions we had about the past, he was always able to fill in the blanks. I, being one of eight children, he always asked about EACH of my siblings BY NAME, remembering each and every one of his nieces/nephews and which Merendo they belonged to. And, there's A LOT of us. I have one of his benches he made for me and will continue to cherish it. Out of the whole family tree, his generation is down to Aunt Ro, Aunt Delores and my Mom, Ceil. Very sad, but the memories of family get togethers (camp, etc) will live on in our hearts FOREVER. He suffers no more so let us rejoice in that and hope to see him again some day. My sincere condolences.
Love, Cousin Rosie

Uncle Bob was a special uncle. He always had stories that he enjoyed telling us. Especially those stories about the love of his life and himself. Aunt Rose and Uncle Bob were a special couple and you could tell how much they loved each other even in the sad times. I loved visiting with them even though there were many years in between. They still treated me special and I will always cherish the bench Uncle Bob made for me. He was a proud man and his eyes always sparkled. Susan, you took such good care of both your mom and dad, but know that Dad is at rest and will no longer be in pain. May he rest in peace and I will miss him! Bob, Rickie and Susan, prayers are with you.

We wish to send Rick and family our sincere condolences.
We think of your dad every time we use the cutting boards that are on each side of our kitchen range.
The stool is proudly displayed in our hall as a magazine rack.
Fond memories,
