Obituary of Tex Veeder
Mr. Donald C. “Tex” Veeder, Jr., 84, of Fultonville, NY died peacefully on Sunday, November 29, 2020. Born in Johnstown, NY he was the son of the late Donald C. Veeder Sr. and Irene Bellinger Veeder.
A lifelong area resident, he attended Fonda- Fultonville Central School. For 37 years he was employed as a mechanic for Lane Construction Company. He was a member of the Montgomery County Agriculture Society and was a director and past president of the Fair Board. Tex was also a member of the Rugmakers Riding Club and the Operating Engineers Union.
An avid skier, Tex enjoyed downhill skiing. He shared his passion with his children and enjoyed spending time with them. Tex also had a passion for his children’s and grandchildren’s interests, partaking in motorcycle racing and riding horses. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
On December 22, 1956 he was united in marriage to Alice Martin Veeder. That union was blessed for 43 years until her passing on December 11, 1999. He was also predeceased by one sister, Nancy Roosevelt.
Survivors include his children, Duane M. Veeder and Deborah Wilder and her husband Richard; one brother, Deline Veeder; five grandchildren, Joelle Ruger and her husband Michael, Ryan Wilder, Dillan Veeder, Dainara Veeder and Frankie Ponte III; three great grandchildren, Madelyn, Ellie and Mia; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, December 3, 2020 at 12p.m. at Maple Avenue Cemetery, Fultonville. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, masks and social distancing are required.
