Obituary of Ralph A. Martuscello
Ralph A. Martuscello, 93, of Amsterdam, passed away peacefully on Tuesday November 24, 2020 at the River Ridge Living Center LLC. in Amsterdam following a brief illness.
Born in Brooklyn, NY on October 2, 1927 a son of the late Peter and Sofie Gatto Martuscello. He grew up in Amsterdam and was a graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School.
Ralph served his country during World War II and Korean War in the US Navy. After his service he worked at GE in Schenectady as a Supervisor in the Large Motor Generator Division. He was a communicant of Historic St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Amsterdam.
He married Gloria L. Torsone Martuscello. She passed away on March 23, 2019.
Survivors include his dear son, David J. Martuscello of Amsterdam. One sister-in-law, Rita Elaine Kopec of Galway, NY and loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. Ralph was predeceased by three sisters and one brother.
A Private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Historic St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church with Father Jeffrey M. L’Arche, M.S. as celebrant. Private Interment with Military Honors will be in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Amsterdam. Calling hours are also private and will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY 12010. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Historic St. Mary’s Church, 156 East Main St. Amsterdam, NY 12010.
