Obituary of William J. Shang

William J. Shang, 64, of Amsterdam, New York passed away peacefully at St. Mary’s hospital on November 22, 2020. Born on May 24, 1956 to Robert and Patricia (Shults) Shang, Bill was a graduate of local schools, and worked as a truck driver for over 40 years, 25 of which he spent working for Polar Beverages. 

An avid outdoorsman, Bill enjoyed hunting and observing wildlife, especially wolves. He enjoyed cooking and grilling, and kept the grill going right up until there was snow on the ground. Bill also enjoyed taking rides on his Harley Davidson motorcycle, and when he took time to be indoors, he enjoyed watching football. 

Bill is survived by his son and best friend Justin, as well as by Justin’s mother Kathy. 

Services will be held privately, at the convenience of the family.
