Obituary of Rhoda J. Carpenter
Rhoda J. Carpenter of the Town of Charleston, NY passed away peacefully on Friday, November, 20, 2020.
She was born in the Town of Sharon, NY at her family home on May 29, 1931. Rhoda was the daughter of the late Harry and Lucy Cicero Corey. She was a Fultonville High School Graduate of 1950 and a lifetime resident of the area.
Rhoda worked for many years as an Administrative Aide at the Contel Phone Company, where she retired in 1991. She enjoyed gardening and canning her goods, cooking for her family and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Rhoda was a member of the Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah’s Witnesses in Johnstown.
Survivors include a son, Jeffrey Carpenter, granddaughters, Jody Miller (Eric), Katie Carpenter (Rafael Melara) and Kelly Carpenter (Rich Weinheimer), great-grandchildren, Anthony and Mia Miller, Connor and Corey Carpenter and Cruz Melara. She is also survived by her siblings, Arthur Corey (Maureen), Monty Corey (Geri) and Eleanor Kinne.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the Jackson & Betz Family Funeral Home, 15 Main Street, Fultonville, NY 12072 on Tuesday November 24, 2020 from 2PM to 4PM. Burial will take place in the family plot at the Evergreen Cemetery in Fonda at a later date. Due to COVID-19, masks and social distancing is required at all services.
