Dan loved life. He collected and enjoyed cars and motorcycles; 5 Corvettes, Antique British motorcycles and a Harley Davidson, just to name a few. This was a constant passion throughout his life. Dan participated in Masters Swimming, enjoyed bodysurfing and loved boating on the Great Sacandaga Lake with his friends and family, especially his grandson Zaylen. He completed the Northville Lake Placid Trail twice and hiked the Adirondacks, Rockies and Alps. Music was an integral part of Dan’s life beginning with High School Rock Bands, progressing to Bluegrass music and singing and playing for numerous weddings. As his children started their own musical endeavors, Dan took great pride in seeing them develop and perform. Dan traveled for business and pleasure impacting lives wherever he went. From The United States, Scandinavia, East and West Europe, Africa, Asia, Middle East, Mexico and the Caribbean. In Jamaica, Dan formed a 50-year loving bond with the Nelson family and friends. Dan generously shared his interests with his children and has inspired happiness for years to come.
On June 29, 1980, Dan married the love of his life, Debi Bowler, celebrating 40 years of marriage this year. They began their life in a one room schoolhouse, where son Adam arrived in 1982. Their family and home grew with daughter Nikalah in 1984 and son Jon in 1985. In 2019, grandson Zaylen Daniel, entered the world and became the newest member in the home full of life.
