Obituary of Erma M. Leone

         Mrs. Erma M. Leone, of Amsterdam,  passed away peacefully on Tuesday November 10, 2020 at the Edward L. Wilkinson Residential Healthcare facility in Amsterdam.

     Born on July 2, 1930 a daughter of the late Albert and Sophia Marsicano Petitti.  She was a lifelong resident of Amsterdam and was a graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School.    

    Erma was employed for over 40 years as a clerk at the former Mohawk Dairy Store in Amsterdam. 

    Mrs. Leone was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Amsterdam and was a member of the St. Sofia Society of the Church.  She was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary and St. Stanislaus Seniors.    Erma above all enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening and crafts. 

     On May 21, 1950 she married Joseph F. Leone Sr.  He passed away on June 2, 2015.

       Survivors include her four children, two sons, Joseph Leone (Mary Ann ) of Amsterdam and Mark Leone (Terry) of Amsterdam and  two daughters, Donna Zeno  of Orlando, FL and Lynn Lewis (Michael J.) of Mayfield.  Seven cherished grandchildren, Melissa Quinn (Chris), Danielle Zeno, Anthony Zeno, Joseph Leone (Jennifer), Jacob Leone (Tianna), Josh Leone and Landrie Beth Leone (Paul Ilagan).  Great-grandchildren, Julianna Quinn, Mackenzie Quinn, Mimi Chapman, Ava Leone and Leighton Leone, Alivia Leone and Joseph F. Leone V.  A sister-in-law,  Angelina Dasher (George) and several nieces, nephews and cousins.  Erma was predeceased by her siblings, Ernest and Armando Petitti and Louise Constantine.   Dear son-in-law, Tony Zeno who passed away on July 10, 2020.

      Funeral services will be held on Saturday November 14, 2020 at 11:00 am at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam with Father O. Robert DeMartinis presiding.   The family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday prior to the funeral service from 9:00 to 11:00AM at the funeral home.   Burial will be in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in Amsterdam.    Please follow the NY State Guidelines for Covid 19 and please wear a mask.   Memorial contributions may be made to the E.L.
