Obituary of Joyce A. French

Mrs. Joyce A. French, 82, of Sharon Springs, NY, died peacefully on Thursday, October 22, 2020.  Born in Little Falls, NY on September 10, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Lois Gardner Rand.  

A lifelong area resident, Joyce attended local schools, was active in the Ames Fire Departments Ladies Auxiliary, employed at Beech Nut and LaSalle Labs, and spent most of her time as a homemaker.  She was a Church Missionary, traveling to the Dominican Republic, volunteered at a local nursing home and, most recently, attended the Schoharie Valley New Beginning Church.  She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. 

Predeceased by a brother, Robert Rand and her first husband, Milton Jewell, Joyce was survived by her husband, William F. French; daughter Robin (Douglas) McConnell of Holts Summit, MO, son Kevin (Christina) Jewell of Canajoharie, NY and step-daughter Debbie Osborn of Fort Plain, NY; brother Terry Rand, sister Dawn Herting and sister-in-law Joan Rand, and grandchildren Erica Jewell, Matthew McConnell, Shane (Hannah) McConnell and Danielle Osborn; nieces, nephews, cousins and church family. 

Services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family.
