Obituary of Elizabeth A. Morrell

Mrs. Elizabeth A. “Betty” Morrell, 73, of State Street, Fort Plain, NY died on Wednesday, October 14, 2020 following a brief illness.  Born in Lakeville, NY on April 19, 1947 she was the daughter of the late C. Robert and Mary “Maisey” Seeley.

On May 19, 1972 she was united in marriage to Gerald P. Morrell.  Together for 48 years they raised a beautiful family together.  Betty was employed at Beech Nut in Canajoharie and was a homemaker.

Betty was a past member of the St. Johnsville Volunteer Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary and enjoyed bowling.  Betty also enjoyed her camp at Caroga Lake, spending time with her family and the occasional trip to the Casino.  She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was predeceased by her sister Patricia Saltsman and a grandson, Michael B. Morrell Jr.

Survivors include her husband Jerry; three children, Michael (Karen) Morrell, Tanya (Daniel) Reid and Shad (Casandra) Morrell; her siblings, Kathleen “Kathy” (David) Ferguson, Sandra (George) Siver, Glenn (Sue) Seeley, Heather (Rick) Rathbun and a brother-in-law, Arnold Saltsman; 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
