Obituary of Beverly J. Scribner
Mrs. Beverly J. Scribner, age 94, formerly of Gloversville, passed away Monday, October 5, 2020 at Wesley Health Center, Saratoga Springs.
She was born October 5, 1926 in Gloversville, the daughter of the late Roy and Margaret Bruce Ellithorpe. She was a Gloversville High School graduate and was later employed as a telephone operator by the former G. Levor and Company for 13 years and by Wood & Hyde Leather Corp. for 21 years until her retirement in 1988.
Beverly was a member of the N. Main Street United Methodist Church and the Ida McGuiness Senior Citizens Center. She was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed reading, word puzzles, trivia and listening to music.
She is survived by three children, Carol Hall of Saratoga Springs, Bruce (Linda) Scribner of Amsterdam and Garry Scribner, of Gloversville; a sister, Helen Borgolini of Watertown, sister-in-law, Arlene Horton of Gloversville; grandchildren Scott (Jenny) Rowe of Maryland, Steven (Michelle) Scribner of Little Genesee, NY, Terry (Andrea) Scribner of Amsterdam, Susan (Mark) Fenstermacher of Gloversville, Diane Hall of Saratoga & Aaron (Chenise) Scribner of Gloversville, 13 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Henry "Hank" Scribner, a sister, Doris Blowers, and granddaughter Audra Scribner.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 11 am to 12 noon on Saturday, October 10 at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville. Facial covering and social distancing will be required.
A private Funeral Service will follow with burial at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville.
