Obituary of Cathy J. Waite

Cathy J. Waite, age 58, of Gloversville, passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville, following a long illness.

She was born January 6, 1962 in Amsterdam, the daughter of the late Wilbur and Jean Russo Winsman. She was a graduate of Fonda Fultonville Central School and received her Master's Degree from Russell Sage College. She enjoyed to travel, snow-skiing, whitewater rafting, riding in small airplanes, dinner cruises on the lake and just about anything that her friends wanted to do.

Cathy worked in a variety of areas including a construction flagperson, secretary for John J. Faso Jr; Registered Nurse at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Health Education Teacher at HFM BOCES and was last employed as a teacher in the Saratoga BOCES LPN Program until her illness several years ago.

She was a Fonda Fultonville Volunteer Ambulance Corps volunteer and member of the Fonda Reformed Church.

Cathy is survived by her husband, Martin Waite of Gloversville; two sons, Nicholas S. Emery (Samantha Lohmeyer) and their son Richard Wilbur Emery, all of Gloversville, and Jonathan Emery of Saratoga; two sisters, Peggy Winsman of Holyoke, Massachusetts and Beth Ann Gatto (Robert) of Ballston Lake; as well as two nephews, Benjamin and David Gableman.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 3 to 6 pm Tuesday, October 6, at Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main St, Fultonville.  A Graveside Service will take place at 11 am Wednesday at Evergreen Cemetery, Fonda. Facial covering and social distancing will be required at both the funeral home and cemetery.

A Celebration of Life event will be announced at a later date.
