Obituary of Bailey Alexandria Field
Bailey Alexandria Field, 19, of the Town of Glen, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 21, 2020. Born in Amsterdam, NY on January 31, 2001 to Paul E. and Suzanne (Brassard) Field, she was a life-long resident of the area. Bailey graduated from Fonda-Fultonville High School, class of 2019, and was also a graduate of the Veterinary Sciences Program at BOCES in Johnstown. Bailey was beginning her sophomore year studying Veterinary Sciences at the State University of New York at Delhi.
Bailey had been working at PetSmart in Amsterdam, where she received recognition as a top employee this past July. She had built a strong rapport with the Amsterdam Animal Hospital and was looking forward to working there after completing her education.
Her passion for music began at a very young age playing piano and singing. She was inspired by Tony DeBlois, who had a positive impact on her life. During high school Bailey excelled in music; she learned to play the flute and was a member of the school band and Select Chorus. Bailey developed into an accomplished singer/songwriter and sang the national anthem at many school and community events. She was a member of the High School Drama Club and was involved in many productions in school and the community. Bailey was also on the cheerleading squad at Fonda-Fultonville for all four years. She was a talented artist and had paintings that were sanctioned. She was a communicant of St. Cecilia’s Church in Fonda, where she would sing at Mass and other functions. She adored horses, both riding and caring for them. Bailey enjoyed spending time with her family vacationing in Alexandria Bay and boating on The Great Sacandaga Lake. She also loved spending time on the family farm in Vermont, with her cousins.
Bailey had a pure heart, and an immense love for all creatures, great and small. Her family will remember her as smart and talented, with an infectious personality, a heart-warming smile, and the voice of an angel. She was a blessing and a gift in everyone’s lives. Her fiery passion was evident in everything she had already accomplished and was striving to.
She is survived by her loving parents, Suzanne and Paul Field of the Town of Glen; her beloved sister, Samantha Brooke Field of the Town of Glen; her grandfather, Larry Brassard and companion Lanell Fajkus of Brookfield, VT; her dear aunts and uncles, Jan Smith, Denise (Shaun) Sanborn, Mark (Shellee) Brassard, Tammy (Al) Claussen, Jeff (Trini) Brassard, John (Abby) Brassard, Steve (Jessica) Brassard, Matt Brassard, Melanie (Russ) DuChene, Bob (Kathy) Field, Kirk Field, and Eric (Sun Mi) Field; as well as many cousins, great-aunts and great-uncles. Bailey will be greatly missed by her Liberty family; her many dear pets, especially Flop, Oliver, and Joy; close life-long friends, as well as Marina and Nerea of Spain, who her family hosted through a foreign exchange program.
She was predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Robert E. and Carolyn K. Field, and maternal grandmother, Joyce (Bove) Brassard.
