Obituary of Curtis Saj
Mr. Curtis Saj, 72, of Amsterdam, NY passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2020 with his loving family by his side.
He was born April 25, 1948 to Mr. Edward Saj and Mrs. Elizabeth Pirog Saj of Amsterdam. A lifelong area resident Curtis attended local schools. He was employed for several years at Brenton Industries in Amsterdam, before continuing his education at Fulton Montgomery Community College where he received an Associate’s Degree. Curtis then worked for a number of years as a mental health counselor for Montgomery Transitional Services.
Curtis will be remembered as a family man—his family meant everything to him. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren who were the light of his life.
He is survived by his beloved wife of over 35 years, Linda Stuneck Saj, of Amsterdam, daughters; Melissa (Matthew) Gladman, and Shari Williams as well as his sons; Brandon Saj, Christopher Saj, and Dominick Saj. He leaves behind his sisters; Linda Hunter, Debbie (Scott) Clapper, and Cathi Helm. Also surviving are his grandchildren; Brendon and Aiden Gladman, Dylan Lanza, Vinny Saj, Kaylani Saj, and Avery Saj, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Elizabeth as well as his half-brother David (Linda) Maranville.
Calling hours will take place on Tuesday August 25, 2020 from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Betz Rossi & Bellinger Funeral Home 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY 12010. Visitors are asked to please wear masks and respect social distancing practices. A private service will take place immediately following calling hours. Interment will take place at St. Stanislaus Cemetery.
