Hi, this is Lynne Sweet, and Alan was my uncle. I remember how Alan came to my Mom’s funeral 20 years ago and told a story about the old camp up at Lake Edward. He wanted to share this with me! He told how my Mom was just a baby and on a nice day she was sleeping out on the porch, which he said wasn’t screened in at the time. My grandmother, Edna, was doing some work inside while the baby slept. She came out to check on her and discovered a black panther out in the yard, who she thought was thinking of attacking the baby! Afterward, the porch was screened in due to that incident. I always appreciated that he shared that with me and it is my most vivid memory of him. I am very sorry that he has passed during this sad time of the covid virus and sincerely hope he didn’t get the virus. My condolences to Missy and Dona. I know we are not a close family, as Missy has pointed out to me but please let me know if I can do more than give to the animal shelter. I didn’t know he loved gemstones, I used to have a business selling stones and I missed an opportunity to share our hobby. I love the picture you here, my Mom would approve!
