Obituary of Mildred P. Cramer
Mrs. Mildred Pauline Cramer, age 90, of Gloversville, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday morning, July 19, 2020.
She was born October 11, 1929 in Syracuse, NY, the daughter of the late Ernest and Gwendolyn Skiff Glasier. She was employed as a secretary to the Syracuse School District and executive assistant of the Easy Washer company. She was a member of the NYS Rose Society. A deacon of Westminster Presbyterian Church of Syracuse, First Presbyterian Church of Greer, S.C. and Trinity Presbyterian Church of Glenville, N.Y. An avid rosarian, she found joy and therapy in growing roses and was crowned the NYS Queen of Roses in 1964. Her deft skill as a lifetime bridge player was exceeded only by her acumen for the sports of football and baseball. She was a devoted fan of the Giants and the Yankees, as well as of every team her children and grandchildren played on. Her greatest joy and love was her husband and soulmate, Kenley who she patiently yearned to be with since his passing in 1992.
Mildred is survived by four children, Jacquelyn Peterson (Glenn) of Highland, Suzanne Retersdorf of Gloversville, Linda Cramer of Johnstown and Mark Cramer (Laura Githens) of Orchard Park; five grandchildren, Matthew Peterson, Laura Kim (Andrew), Jared Retersdorf, Kyle Cramer and Colin Cramer; and a great-granddaughter, Eleanor Kim.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Kenley Cramer, and a son, Dale Cramer; and her sister, Marilyn Larry.
Private visitation will take place at the convenience of the family at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, Gloversville, followed by burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Syracuse.
