Obituary of Joyce L. Harrington
Mrs. Joyce L. Harrington, 76, of Ridge Road, Canajoharie passed away peacefully on Saturday July 18, 2020 at home surrounded by her family. Born in Little Falls, NY on May 10, 1944 she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Mildred Heiser Corso.
A lifelong area resident, Joyce worked all of her life for several local companies including, Little Falls Foot Wear, Richardson Brands, Beech Nut and lastly Walmart DC 6041.
In August 1988 she was united in marriage to George O. Harrington. That union lasted 10 years until his passing on September 22, 1998. She was also predeceased by her brother, Robert Corso.
She was a member of the D.A.R. Caughnawaga Chapter and The V.F.W. Auxiliary and the Fort Plain Co-Op. She was also actively involved in supporting the community and helping the local libraries and animal shelters.
Joyce also liked going to auctions, sales, enjoyed collecting antiques, and was always in search of a great deal. She was a collector of Fenton and Carnival Glass and enjoyed finding the perfect piece for her collection. Her greatest joy was cooking and baking for her family and friends. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her four children, Kimberly Buddles of Fort Plain, NY, Kelly Thomas and her husband Jim of Fort Plain, NY Shane Buddles of Fort Plain, NY and Tracy Archer and her husband Mike of Oneonta, NY; six grandchildren, Brock Buddles and his wife Nikki, Courtney Thomas, Heather Thomas, Katie Frye, Jimmy Thomas, Maddie Archer; six great grandchildren, Christian, Elise, Miles, Maicee, Noah and Rachel; one brother, Anthony Corso and his wife Jean of Richfield Springs, NY; her beloved dog “Little Man”; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Service of Remembrance will take place on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at 12:30p.m. in the Fort Plain Cemetery (New Section) with the Rev. Nancy Ryan officiating. Calling hours will be held on Saturday morning from 10a.m. until 12p.m. at the Lenz & Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317. Masks and social distancing protocols are required for all events.
