Obituary of Yolanda B. Cerasia

Mrs. Yolanda B. Cerasia,  age 89, of Gloversville, was taken by God to Heaven on June 26, 2020. She was born in Agerola (Naples), Italy on December 5, 1930, daughter of Guiseppi and Margherita (Avitable) Florio.  She worked as a nanny before emigrating to the United States in 1960.

She married Frank “KiKi” Cerasia on September 24, 1960 and they raised five children together.  She was a dedicated wife and mother with incredible talents and skills.  She was an excellent cook who shared her specialties with all who entered her home.

Yolanda was a woman of deep Catholic faith and inspired all her children to be self-reliant and independent adults. She sewed gloves for a variety of leather mills and also worked in local school districts as a cafeteria aide.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, her children: Anna Lanphere (Andy DeGolyer), Margaret (Vincent Perrella), Anthony (Laurie) Cerasia, Luci (Frank Fernandez) and Joseph (Denise) Cerasia, 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and another one on the way and also her best friend, Nancy Lucas.
