Obituary of Stephen P. Furman
Stephen P. "Steve" Furman, 45, of Broadalbin, passed away on Saturday June 20, 2020 at home. Born in Amsterdam on October 25, 1974 a son of Jon Furman and Madeline Leonetti Bottisti. He was a lifelong area resident and was a 1992 graduate of Broadalbin-Perth High School. He also received his associates degree from Erie County Community College in Bowling center management.
Stephen was employed for several years for the United States Postal Service in Albany, NY. He was also a Pro Shop operator at Thruway Lanes, in Buffalo and most recently Kelly’s Imperial Bowling Center in Amsterdam He married Sabrina Conte Furman on August 14, 2010. In addition to his wife he is survived by his parents, Madeline “Mattie” Bottisti of Broadalbin, NY and Jon Furman of Perth, NY Brother, Michael (Ann) Furman of Broadalbin, NY. Father-in-law, Vincenzo Conte of Broadalbin, NY. Brother-in-law, John (Dona) Conte of Hamilton, NJ. Nieces and nephews, Amber and Ryan Furman, Daniella and Giovanni Conte, Kassandra and Giovanna Cassella, Furbaby Princess “Pin” and Several cousins and lifelong friends also survive. He was predeceased by his Step-father James Bottisti, Step-mother, Maxine Furman and his Mother-in-Law, Daniella Conte.
Steve loved to golf, ride three wheelers and most of all bowling. He was a caring and loving husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend. Steve touched the lives of everyone he met with his love, sense of humor, and quick wit. He was a fun loving giving person, always there for anyone who needed help. He enjoyed projects around the house, cooking, playing cards and spending time with his family and friends. Steve was very talented and passionate when it came to the bowling center. He was a perfectionist at drilling bowling balls for others and took great pride in teaching others to bowl and watching them succeed. Steve’s memory will live in the hearts of everyone who loved him.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday June 25, 2020 at 12:00 Noon at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery in Amsterdam with the Rev. Dr. John Califano presiding. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday prior to the service from 9:00 to 11:00AM at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
