Obituary of Rosemarie Brown

Rosemarie Brown, 86, of Amsterdam died peacefully on June 15, 2020 at St. Mary’s Hospital.  Born in Amsterdam on April 2, 1934 she was the daughter of the late Vito C. and Lena Battaglia Florimo Sr.

 

A lifelong area resident, she was a graduate of the former Wilbur H. Lynch High School and the Amsterdam School of Commerce.  Rosemarie was of the Roman Catholic faith and a member of the former St. Michael’s the Archangel Church an Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church.  For many years, she was employed as a bookkeeper for the Pattersonville Telephone Company until her retirement.

 

Rosemarie enjoyed traveling, gardening and spending time with her family.  She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

 

Survivors include her sister-in-law, A. Dianne Florimo; her niece, Suzanne (Randy) Kissinger; cousins, Theresa Konieczka (Peter Young), Roberta (Rick) Hancock, Robert (Nancy) Florimo; dear friends, Ruth Pereicich and Virginia Melonovich; and many extended family members.

 

She was predeceased by her brother, Vito C. Florimo, Jr.

 

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Dr. Erica Watchmeister for her constant care and kindness and The Emergency Department at St. Mary’s Healthcare and the Amsterdam Fire Department Ambulance Service for their compassion and care.

 

Services are private.  Burial will take place in the family plot in St. Michael’s Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Association www.alz.org
