Obituary of Frances M. Bollentin
Mrs. Frances M. Bollentin, 80, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 12, 2020 surrounded by her family at Mountain Valley Hospice. Born in Brooklyn, NY on November 28, 1939 she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lucy Governara Camarda.
Fran was employed for the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation form many years until her retirement.
On April 8, 1961 she was united in marriage to Robert A. Bollentin. That union lasted 38 year until his passing on July 2, 1999. She was also predeceased by her brother, Lawrence Camarda.
A devout Roman Catholic, Fran served as the Liturgical Coordinator for St. Michael the Arch Angel Roman Catholic Church. She was also a Lector and Eucharistic Minister. Fran also enjoyed volunteering her time for several organizations throughout the years. She also took great pride in restoring statutes, most notably Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha at Shrine. Above all she loved her family dearly, and will be missed by those that knew and loved her.
Survivors include her five children, Robert A. Bollentin III and his wife Sue, Joseph W. Bollentin and his wife Aimee, Lisa D. Kordyjak and her husband Mike, John T. Bollentin, and Jennifer F. Quill and her husband Steve; one sister, Antoinette Spedale and her husband Richard; eleven grandchildren, Jessica Wilkinson and her husband Sean, Kathryn Bollentin, Andrea Bollentin, Nick Brown, Julia Bollentin, Thomas Bollentin, Christopher Kordyjak and his wife Brooke, Timothy Kordyjak, Erica Kordyjak, Abigail Bollentin and Claire Bollentin; three great grandchildren, Delaney Wilkinson, Joseph Wilkinson and Christopher Kordyjak Jr.; nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graveside service will take place on Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at 11a.m. at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Amsterdam. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Please wear a mask and observe social distancing. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice 108 Steele Avenue, Gloversville, NY 12078 or the Alzheimer’s Association www.alz.org
