Obituary of John C. Miller

John C. Miller, 89, of Fort Johnson, died suddenly on Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at Albany Medical Center, Albany.

He was born August 15, 1930 in Gloversville, the son of the late Chauncey and Olive LaPorte Miller. 

John was a successful businessman rising from a small used car dealer. He was a pillar of the financial community in Johnstown and Gloversville for over 30 years. John was a member of the Board of Directors of both City National  and NBT Banks.

On December 21, 1997 John married the love of his life, Judith Nobles Miller. John and Judy's love of horses often brought them to Europe. Their importing and breeding of Halflinger horses led them to have the largest Halflinger breeding farm in North America.

In addition to his wife, Judith, John is survived by two sons, David  Miller (RoseAnn) and Jeffrey Miller (Shelly) of Gloversville; eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two stepchildren, Katherine Seholm and Douglas Seholm Jr. of Nantucket.
