Obituary of Norma J. Borden

Mrs. Norma J. Borden, 94, formerly of Fultonville, NY died peacefully on Friday, April 24, 2020 at the Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility in Amsterdam.  Born in Syracuse, NY on March 9, 1926 she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Mabel Carpenter Penner.

 

Norma was employed with the White Mop Wringer Company for many years until her retirement.  She was a homemaker, enjoyed playing cards and was an avid walker.  Norma could be seen on any given day walking through Fultonville.  She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

 

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, John V. Borden; and her sister, Mabel “Bobbie” Lusso.

 

Survivors include her five children, Dorothy Bragg and her husband Robert of The Villages, FL, John Borden of Saratoga, NY, Barbara Phillips and her husband Gary of Bleecker, NY, Richard and his wife Sandy Borden of Glen, NY and Eileen Borden and her husband Stanley Putman of Caroga Lake, NY; one brother, Ralph “Bud” Penner of Syracuse, NY; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.

 

Services are private and burial will take place in Maple Avenue Cemetery, Fultonville, NY.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Montgomery County SPCA, PO Box 484, Amsterdam, NY 12010 or The Ayres Memorial Animal Shelter, 133 Hilltop Road, Sprakers, NY 12166.
