Obituary of Everett D. Anderson
Mr. Everett D. Anderson, 91, of Hickory Hill Road, Fonda, NY passed away peacefully on April 19, 2020. Born in the Town of Florida, NY he was the son of the late Richard Anderson and Susanne Blackwood.
A lifelong area resident, and was a “Tractor and Trailer” Driver working for various companies until his retirement from Penske of Fultonville at the age of 81. Everett had a strong work ethic, always providing for his family and enjoyed traveling the country. He had a vast knowledge of every state and could tell you how to get anywhere. Everett will be missed by all who knew and loved him, especially his “girl” Casey whom he helped raise just as if she was his own.
He served proudly in the United States Army from 1950 until 1952 when he was honorably discharged at the rank of Corporal.
On June 30, 1962 he was united in marriage to Phyllis Tyler of Roxbury, NY. That union lasted 41 years until her passing on December 18, 2003. He was also predeceased by many of his siblings.
Survivors include his sister, Betty Young of Utica, NY; Casey L. Dingman (Brandon Stark) of Fonda, NY and their son, Preston Everett Stark whom he loved very much; also several extended family members and friends including, Richard and Kim Dingman of Fonda, NY, John and Riki Bain and their children, Sidney and Jack of Glen, NY.
The family wishes to acknowledge Debi Perry and David Wendell of Fonda, NY for being wonderful neighbors and caretakers during his lifetime.
Due to the Covid-19 Outbreak, Burial with military honors will take place in Maple Avenue Cemetery, Fultonville. Family is encouraged to attend wearing a mask and following social distancing protocols.
Memorial donations in his memory may be made to the Town of Florida Veteran’s Memorial Park, 214 Fort Hunter Road, Amsterdam, NY 12010. The purpose of this donation will directly benefit the operation and preservation of the park.
