Dear Lorilyn and Family,
I was a high school classmate of Joan [1956]. She was a wonderful friend and so sorry to learn of her passing. I remember you took pictures of our 50th reunion and she sent everyone copies of them. Ronnie and Lori,
I am very sorry to hear the news of your Mom's passing. Our Mothers seemed inseparable at times. The memories of seeing them sitting by the edge of the pool or my Mom hunched over the car door when your Mom stopped by for a quick chat seem too clear in my minds eye for them to be as old as I know them to be.
Perhaps, there is some consolation to be found in the knowledge that your Mom touched the lives of so many people during her time as a special education teacher and throughout her life.
I wish you and your families peace and comfort in these difficult days ahead.

I had the pleasure of working with Joan at HFM BOCES. She was compassionate and treated the children with respect. I know a lot of people respected her also. She will be missed and remembered fondly. I'm sorry for everyones loss.

I’m so very sorry for the loss of your mother. I admire your mother for her work with special needs children and adults. She had that gift and served it well.
Memories of growing up in Randall always included your mom and those beautiful Dobermans. I always felt welcome in her home.

Mrs. Nellis was a great and caring teacher, she taught 2 of my family member while at Fonda-Fultonville School many years ago, they both had upmost respect for her. She touched a lot of lives and will be missed by all who knew her. Truly sorry for your loss.
