Obituary of Arthur James Sanborn

Arthur J. Sanborn of Mayfield, NY died Saturday April 11, 2020. He was born in Pennsylvania and relocated to Upstate NY. Arthur Married Ethel M. Colby on May 5, 1951 and would have celebrated 69 years of marriage in May.

 

Arthur retired from General Electric after 25 years of service. He proudly served in the US Army during WWII in Italy. He enjoyed camping in the Adirondack’s, he owned numerous properties around the Sacandaga Lake which he loved to work on, he also enjoyed going to casinos and garage sales.

 

Two daughters Linda (Rick) Meserve of Johnstown, and Kimberly (William) DeGroff of Scotia; grandchildren Jody (Jim) Palmer of Galway, Michael Darling of Gloversville, Jared (Jen) DeGroff of Scotia; 5 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild along with numerous nieces, nephews and his dog Abbey.

 

In keeping with Arthur’s wishes, services will be private to his family.

Interment will take place at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Gloversville.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice in Arthur’s name.

 

Arrangements have been entrusted to Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, Gloversville.
