Obituary of Osvaldo Cotto

Osvaldo Cotto, 57, of Amsterdam, NY passed away on Saturday, March 21st, 2020. With his loving family by his side.

Born on September 23rd, 1962 in Cayey, Puerto Rico, he was the son of Carmen Maria Maldonado and the late Osvaldo Cotto Colon. Osvaldo attended schools in Puerto Rico. He completed 3 years at Fulton Montgomery Community College located in Johnstown, NY is 1983 for food service. He married the love of his life Cheryl Lynn Roach on September 16th, 1978. It was a beautiful and strong union that lasted until his passing. Osvaldo was a dedicated employee and spent 31 years working for St. Mary’s Healthcare in Amsterdam. He was a proud Jehovah Witness whose faith ran deep. He loved music and had a fascination with the guitar. He was a very loving and devoted husband, father, and friend. He was very social and extremely loved by all who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

Osvaldo is survived by his wife Cheryl Cotto, his daughters, Christina Cotto, Carmencita Bolton, and Awilda Cotto; his son Osvaldo Cotto III; his 10 grandchildren; his mother Carmen Maria Maldonado; his sister Awilda Cotto; and his brother Luis Cotto. Many more loving family and close friends also survive. Osvaldo is predeceased by his father Osvaldo Cotto Colon.

A Memorial Service will be held for Osvaldo at the Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall, 525 Fort Hunter Rd, Amsterdam, NY. Please check back at a later date for service time and say.
