Obituary of Elsie C. Potts

Mrs. Elsie C. Potts of Thayer Road, passed away Friday, April 3, 2020 at St. Mary’s Hospital. Born on June 1, 1920, Elsie was in her 100^th year and was the daughter of the late John and Jennie Kruger Brasmeister.

 

A lifelong resident of the Town of Florida, she attended the one room school house and was employed by Mohasco Industries. 

 

On January 30, 1941, she was united in marriage to Charles “Chuck” Potts.  That union lasted 72 wonderful years until his passing on February 17, 2012.  She was also predeceased by her son, Richard Dix Potts in 1944.

 

Elsie attended Historic St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church.  She took great pride in her home and enjoyed cooking and tending to her floral gardens. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

 

Survivors include a son Charles M. Potts Jr. (Carol) of the Town of Florida; a daughter, Diane L. Wozniak of the Town of Florida; seven grandchildren, Glen (Christy) Potts, Michael (Jackie) Potts, Jenny Potts, Steven (Tina) Anderson, Laurie (Chris) Furnare, Rich (Stephanie) Wozniak, Edward (Karen) Wozniak; 15 great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

 

Due to the Covid-19 Outbreak, all services are private.  Burial will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Fort Johnson, NY.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Elsie’s memory to the Town of Florida Volunteer Fire Department, 6252 State Highway 30, Amsterdam, NY 12010.
