Obituary of Arlene A. Madden

Mrs. Arlene A. Madden,  age 92, of Gloversville, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at her home.

She was born July 16, 1927 in Mayfield, the daughter of the late LeVerne and Evelyn Gifford Hare. Her first job, her favorite, was working at the former Wentworth's Bakery in Gloversville.  She later worked as a glove maker at various firms in the area, lastly at Gates Mills, Johnstown.
She was a wonderful mother and enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved knitting and crocheting.

Arlene is survived by four daughters, Catherine Madden, Mary Allen, Penny McLemore and Carole Madden (Patrick Calhoun); a brother,  Earl Hare;  19 grandchildren, Nadine Medina, Rachel Archer, Trenton Archer, Michael Madden, Brook Allen, Angela Allen, Sabrina Allen, Sharon Darling, Matthew Smith, Stevie McLemore, Ashley McLemore, Patrick Calhoun, Bambie Cross, Jason Calhoun, Cissy Petoff, Joseph Calhoun, Bruce Calhoun, Jazmyn Calhoun and Deborah Calhoun; as well as many great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband of more than 58 years, John W. Madden. 

Due to the current health situation a Memorial Service will be announced at a later date.

Interment will take place in the spring at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Northville.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, Gloversville.
