Obituary of Robert C. Lech

     Mr. Robert C.  Lech, 67, of Amsterdam, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday March 14, 2020 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Amsterdam.

     Born in Amsterdam, NY a son of the late Frank and Josephine Buczek Lech.  He was a lifelong Amsterdam resident and attended Amsterdam Schools.

     Robert was a US Air Force Veteran serving during the Vietnam War from 1971 to 1975.  

He was employed as a Machinist and Toolmaker at the General Electric Company in Schenectady for over 40 years until his retirement.

    He enjoyed casinos and gambling.  He was a member of the GE Quarter Century Club and the Tribes Hill, NY Fish and Game Club. 

     Robert is survived by his two sons, Robert F. Lech and Michael A. Lech of Alabama.  One sister, Frances Lech Hallenbeck of Amsterdam.  One grandson, Dylan Lech of East Greenbush, NY.    Two nieces, Deborah (Busch) Brock of Amsterdam and Amy (Tom) Grogan) of East Greenbush, NY.  His  former wife, Jackie Fairbanks of Alabama.   Two great-nephews,   Vincent Czelusniak of Gloversville, NY, William Czelusniak of Galway, NY, and two great-nieces,   Amanda Czelusniak of Johnstown, NY and Ashley Grogan of East Greenbush, NY.   Several cousins also survive.    

    Funeral Services will be held by invitation only at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam with Rev. Neal Longe presiding. Entombment in the columbarium wall will be in the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Rd., Schuylerville, NY at a later date to be announced.
