Obituary of Cheryl A. Bogett-Gollinger
Mrs. Cheryl A. Bogett-Gollinger, 69, of Amsterdam, NY, passed away peacefully on February 27, 2020 at St. Mary's Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 26, 1951 in Potsdam, New York to Hubert and Beulah (Pelkey) Bogett. On October 13, 1991 she was united in marriage to James Gollinger of Auburn, NY.
Cheryl’s great love was her family, especially spending time with her grandchildren. Every week when her family came over, they would play Rummy, among other card games that she greatly enjoyed. She also enjoyed her weekly chats with her dear friend, Mary Pikul. Cheryl was an avid animal lover, having many pets over the years. One of her great talents was sewing and quilting; Cheryl poured her heart into making beautiful quilts for her family in her spare time. When she wasn’t quilting, she spent her time shopping, and loved eating chocolate. Cheryl was also an avid reader, and loved to ride on the back of her husband's Harley.
Her loving family includes her husband James Gollinger, her children; Julia (David) Nicholas, Steven Gollinger, and Michael (Andrea) Gollinger, her grandchildren; Emily Mead, Phoebe, Logan, Blake, Zoe, Avery, and Lillian Cheryl Gollinger, her siblings; Gary Bogett, James Bogett, Sharon Akey, Virginia Mason, and Lonie Bogett, her dog Zeus, her cat Eddie, her grand-dog Bernard, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
She is predeceased by her parents, Hubert and Beulah Bogett, siblings; Wayne Bogett and Mert Bogett, as well as by her daughter-in-law Mindy Wagner.
In keeping with Cheryl’s wishes, no funeral services will be held. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Epilepsy Foundation Northeastern New York.
