Obituary of Janice S. O'Regan
Mrs. Janice S. O'Regan, age 72, of Johnstown, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2020 at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady, with her loving family by her side.
She was born March 10, 1947 in Gloversville, the daughter of the late Albert and Ruth Sothern Steenburgh. She was a 1965 graduate of Gloversville HIgh School and also a graduate of SUNY Cobleskill. She was employed as a dietician by the Johnstown School District for many years, a job which she truly loved. She enjoyed cooking, taking photographs and traveling especially to the ocean. That was where she found her peace. Her family meant the world to her. She spent many years taking care of her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. She enjoyed lunch dates and spending time with her life-long friends and an occasional trip to the casino. Anyone who knew her, knew her strength and her will to live, even during her most difficult moments. She was a free-spirited woman, she loved to laugh and joke. You never knew what was coming next. She brought joy to anyone who knew her.
Janice is survived by five children, Amy Lee Webb, Larry O'Regan (Christina), Lori Puglisi (Joe), Andrea Burt (Larry) and Brian O'Regan (Dee); a brother, Roy Steenburgh; three grandchildren, Breana McCoy, Haylee Webb and Bella Calabrese; a great-granddaughter, Avery August; and a niece, Christina Taylor. She will also be missed dearly by her furry friend, Comet.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by the "Love of her life", her husband of nearly 38 years, Joseph O'Regan.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 6pm Wednesday, January 15 at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont Street, Gloversville, where a Funeral Service will take place 10:00am Thursday with Pastor Joyce Royal officiating.
Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, Fonda.
