Obituary of Michael F. Salerno

Mr. Michael F. Salerno, 89, of Carmichael Street, Amsterdam died peacefully on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 following a brief illness.  Born in Amsterdam on May 7, 1930 he was the son of the late Louis and Carmella Greco Salerno.

A lifelong area resident he attended local schools.  He served proudly with the United States Armed Services.  Michael for many years was employed by the Dagostino Block Company in Schenectady until his retirement.   He was of the catholic faith.

He is survived by his siblings Rosetta Raspudic of Rochester, NY and Raplh (Carol) Salerno of Seattle; several nieces, nephews; grandnieces and grandnephews.

Michael was predeceased by his siblings, Alex Salerno, Mary Semkiw and Joseph Salerno.

Funeral services will be private.  Burial will take place in the family plot at St. Michael’s Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project www.woundedwarriorproject.org
