Obituary of Phyllis M. Penman
Phyllis M. Penman, 89, of Northern Blvd; passed away peacefully Tuesday morning at Capstone Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing.
Born in Amsterdam, NY on May 7, 1930 she is the daughter of the late Raymond and Mary Palilunas.
She is survived by her loving son Gary (Victoria) Penman of Pattersonville, four grandchildren Joseph, Kimberly, Robert and Janis, and by two great granddaughters Aubrey, and Hailey. Survived also by many cousins, nieces, and nephews. In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband Leland G. “Lee” Penman whom she married on August 31, 1952. They remained lovingly united until his passing on March 8, 2005. She is also predeceased by a son David Penman who passed away in 1988, and a daughter Ann Seeley who passed away in 2008. Phyllis is also predeceased by several sisters, brothers, and a granddaughter Kristen Seeley.
A lifelong resident of Amsterdam, and graduate of Wilbur H. Lynch High School. During her lifetime she was a homemaker, and enjoyed spending time with her family. Phyllis also enjoyed camping in the Adirondacks, fishing, gardening, and loved her pugs. Phyllis also was a parishioner of the former St. Casimir’s Roman Catholic Church.
Funeral Services will take place on Monday December 30, 2019 at 11 AM at the Betz, Rossi, Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, NY 12010 with Fr. O. Robert DeMartinis. Burial will follow in the family plot of the St. Casimir’s Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited to call one hour prior from 10 to 11 AM.
