Obituary of Elaine R. Teeter
Elaine R. Teeter, 84, of Amsterdam, New York passed away on Sunday morning, November the 10th, at St. Mary’s Hospital with her loving family by her side. She was born on November 13, 1934 in Amsterdam, New York to the late Nicholas and Mary (Manginelli) Campochiro.
A lifelong area resident, Elaine attended local schools, graduating from Wilbur H. Lynch, class of 1952. Elaine worked for the NYS Department of Taxation and Finance, Withholding Department in Albany, retiring after 30 years. She had been a longtime member of CSEA.
Ms. Elaine Campochiro was united in marriage to Mr. William Teeter on September 11, 1955. They remained lovingly married until his passing in January of 2012. In addition to her husband, Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, Nicholas and Mary, as well as her siblings; Catherine, Rose, Virginia, Joseph, and Nicholas.
Elaine is survived by her loving children; Anne (Rick) Zielinski and Darren (Kate Morrison) Teeter. Her precious grandchildren; Jeff (Andrea Gutowski) Zielinski, Dan (Megan Palumbo) Zielinski, and Ben, Anna, and Dylan Teeter. And her joys in life, her great-grandchildren; Scarlett, Finley, Vada, and Ace, as well as many nieces and nephews, and her beloved cats, Mama and Sweetums.
Elaine and Bill enjoyed traveling and took many trips over the years. Over her lifetime, Elaine enjoyed many activities including reading, downhill and cross-country skiing, bowling, riding bikes, boating, and especially playing tennis. She also attended many shows on Broadway, the Proctors Theater and the Mac-Haydn Theatre with her niece Arlene Booth, with whom she was especially close.
Elaine cared deeply for her family and loved spending time with each and every one of them. Her family meant the world to her.
The family would like to thank the staff at St. Mary’s Hospital for their compassion and care for Elaine in her final days.
Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, November 16 at 1:30PM in the chapel of the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave, Amsterdam, with Fr. Iannotti presiding, with interment to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited, and may call on Saturday, November 16 from Noon to 1:30PM at the Betz, Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home. Elaine and Bill loved animals and they were a very important part of their lives. With this in mind, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Montgomery County SPCA (PO Box 484, Amsterdam, NY 12010) in her name.
