Obituary of Blontino Augustine

Blontino Augustine, 86, of Canajoharie, NY, passed away Friday November 8, 2019 at his home with his loving family at his side.  Born in Fort Plain, N.Y. he is the son of the late Nicola and Maria (Lupo)  Augustine. 

He was a lifelong area resident and was a graduate of Fort Plain High School.   Mr. Augustine was a US Airforce Veteran serving during the Korean War from 1952 to 1956. He later was a Quality Control Supervisor for Beech Nut-Life Savers Co. in Canajoharie until he retired. He  was also an avid bridge player, belonging to the Colonial Bridge Club and won many trophies for his skills as a player.

 In addition to his loving wife he is survived by his daughter, Gilda Augustine of Troy, NY.  One brother Chancy Augustine of Canjoharie, NY.  One sister, Madeline Schuyler of Canajoharie, NY.    Grandson, Nicolo Augustine of New Paltz, NY.  Also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.  Blontino was predeceased by his son, Nick Augustine in 1976.  He is also predeceased by a sister, Angelina Humbert and two brothers, Romolo and Luciano Augustine.  

Funeral services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family.  A gathering of Family and Friends  who knew Blondie are welcome to join us on Wednesday, November 13, at 4 PM at the Mercato’s Italian Restaurant, 38 W. Main Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Lenz and Betz Funeral Home, 69 Otsego Street, Canajoharie, NY 13317.
